We are currently seeking an exceptional person to fill the above role for Whītiki Maurea based in West Auckland.
The main purpose of this position is to enhance our clinical care through the use of mÄtauranga MÄori. This will see you providing MÄori advice, guidance and support to tangata whai i te ora and their whÄnau, undertaking cultural assessments and cultural intervention and supporting the cultural development of the wider team.
This role is based at Waiatarau In Patient Unit, and will be closely supported by our Taurawhiri, KaumÄtua and Cultural Team Leader.
The position would suit a person who is proficient in Te Reo Rangatira me Åna Tikanga, and is passionate about improving MÄori health and wellbeing. Experience in mental health and addictions are desirable as is an understanding of MÄori community support mechanisms. A good understanding of MÄori health models and the concept of whÄnau ora is essential.
